From past few decades we have been learning about the different types of DNA viz., A, B & Z forms. B form is the most common conformation in vivo systems which has wide major groove and narrow minor groove. Z form DNA has left-handed sense. It is narrow and more elongated helix other two forms of DNA viz., A & B. B form DNA which is right-handed, is a favoured conformation at high water concentrations. It seems that hydration of minor groove favour B-form. In case of Z-form, its conformation is by high salt concentrations. It is found very rarely in vivo and its function remains obscure. It has been observed that excess salt causes reverse twist of DNA from right to left, meaning, from B-form to Z-form.

Z-form of this DNA is usually considered as damaged by the enzymes in the our cells hence, it is tried to delete and throw it out of the cell. This deletion will result in cancer or any other problems. A recent discovery has found the method of calculation which predicts this transition with unexampled accuracy.
