FMIS-Frequency based Multiplexing Impedance Sensor is a recent application developed in the emerging field of Life science as a potential Cell based toxicological tool. It is extremely sensitive towards cell toxicity. It is a novel forthcoming technology with only single electrode pair which acts as frequency detector for the screening of various multiple microfluidic channels. It consists of sub-sensors, which has its own frequency through which the dielectric properties of the sample can be probed. Hence the frequency multiplexing impedance sensor is fast in comparison to the other conventional single sensors. This technology will be very advantageous for cell based analysis and also in an assortment of biomedical devices where size limitations and spatially distributed probing act as limiting factors.
